Craftwork Digital, a fast-growing digital marketing and web development start-up based in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, is looking for a smart, motivated, and passionate Web Designer (UI/UX).

You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with a small and highly experienced team of web developers and digital marketers to grow your skills and experience at a rapid rate.

You can expect a friendly working environment with a start-up feel, and to be working across a wide variety of clients and websites, from small family run businesses to some of the largest and most well-known brands on the web.

We’re looking for someone with a portfolio that showcases relevant, high quality web design work. You’ll have a natural eye for pixel perfect layouts and a good understanding of complementary typefaces and colours. More importantly, you’ll have an active curiosity about web design as a field, and actively enthuse over the most recent web design trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • 12 months’ web design experience in a comparable in-house or agency-side role
  • Confidently translate client requirements into wireframes and/or prototypes
  • Producing webpage designs that are equal parts attractive and usable across desktop, mobile and tablet
  • Seeking, organising and acting upon client feedback
  • Intelligently iterating on designs in order obtain timely sign-off
  • Supporting the development team in turning your designs into a functional website

Required Skills

  • Experienced in designing for the responsive web
  • Skilled with relevant web design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Ability to think creatively and laterally
  • Delivery focused with good time management skills

  • Strong understanding of UI, UX, and providing high levels of usability
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (e.g. W3C)

Desirable Skills

  • Skilled in using modern design software and processes (e.g. Sketch, InVision)
  • Knowledge of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and performance-orientated design
  • Exposure to web development (HTML, JavaScript)
